Abstract:

This policy brief from the National Network for Youth (NN4Y) is a call to action for federal policymakers and agency staff to support the development of a comprehensive, collaborative system-based approach to address youth and young adult (YYA) homelessness. This system should be youth-centric and flexible. NN4Y urges support in the form of updated laws, policies, and priorities and offers six recommendations to the federal government to target the critical needs of the YYA homeless population. The organization has developed a proposed system that encompasses all the essential elements and principles of a coordinated national, state, and local response to youth homelessness.
