The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, reauthorized in January 2002, ensures educational rights and protections for children and youth experiencing homelessness. The authors of this three-page Fact Sheet provide excerpts of the legislation and explain its provisions. They also offer strategies for implementing it in a school district.
