NEW! HEAL Initiative: Preventing Opioid Use Disorder in Older Adolescents and Young Adults

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is seeking cooperative agreement applications for an initiative called Helping to End Addiction Long-Term (HEAL) to hasten the development of scientific solutions that address the national opioid public health crisis. The HEAL Initiative will fund research on evidence-based interventions and strategies to prevent opioid misuse and Opioid Use Disorder in at-risk adolescents and young adults (ages 16 to 30). NIDA will prioritize research that targets the study population in multiple settings and systems (e.g., health care, behavioral health, occupational health, schools, justice systems, child welfare, and military and veteran services).
