New! Department of Labor: Employment and Training Administration: YouthBuild

Due Date:
Tuesday, September 18, 2018

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announces the availability of approximately $85 million in grant funds authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for YouthBuild. Under this funding opportunity, DOL will award grants through a competitive process to organizations providing pre-apprenticeship services that support education, occupational skills training, and employment services to at-risk youth, ages 16 to 24, while they perform meaningful work and service in their communities. In addition to construction skills training, YouthBuild applicants may offer occupational skills training in other in-demand industries through the Construction Plus component, which is a priority of this grant competition. In FY 2018, DOL hopes to serve roughly 5,250 participants during the grant performance period with approximately 85 projects nationwide. Individual grants will range from $700,000 to $1.1 million and require 25 percent non-federal matching funds from the grantees. Applications are due by September 18, 2018.
